Swimming Trainer / Lifeguard

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field, along with a strong understanding of exercise science, nutrition, and overall wellness, with Lifeguard certification.
• 2 years experience as swim instructor especially for children.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English language.
• Knowledge of swimming strokes and teaching levels.
• Presentable and must have excellent hygiene.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to occasionally work varied shifts dependent on events and staffing and Available to work weekends/holidays.
• Must have a high level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity and in excellent work ethic.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain order and safety in the swimming pool and surrounding areas.
• Perform essential lifeguard duties, ensuring the safety of all pool users at any time.
• Take charge of group swimming classes from beginning to end; talking to participants about their needs, desires, and fears, designing training programs based on clients levels.
• Cleans and maintains the pool area, deck and surrounding areas. (Ensuring the pool and surrounding area is clean, well-maintained, and free of hazards)
• Attends In-Service Trainings, and staff meeting
• s with the Fitness Manager, Club Manager and other management team members as requested.
• Knows and enforces emergency procedures and safety regulations on the pool and wet area.
• Assists in maintaining chemical balance, Tests pool chemicals and report on daily basis.
• Knows and enforces all rules of sanitation and care of the pool as required by company policy.
• Provides assistance to members, providing information about rules and programs in a helpful and positive manner.
• Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe areas.
• Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid.
• Monitor and maintain chemical levels in the pool for water quality. Including administering correct chemical doses as needed.
• Conduct daily cleaning and vacuuming of the pool.
• Monitors hot and cold jacuzzies and reports about their functionalities and once they need maintenance.
• Daily checkup for sauna and steam rooms and report once they need maintenance.
• Helps and supports in time of competitions and events in swimming pool area.
• Announce to members and encourage them to participate in competitions and events in swimming and other programs offered by the company.
• Supports and launches new classes in the pool area as per the management instructions.
• On own responsibility practice swimming regularly to keep a good swim fitness
• Regular swim- and lifeguarding tests will be carried out where approved results are required

Requirements:

• Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
• Employment certificates
• NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
• PEOS certificate
