Maintenance Controller

Qualifications

• Must have successfully completed a formal course of training in continuing airworthiness and the control of maintenance acceptable to the Director.
• Licensed Engineer with At least 3 years’ experience in the maintenance of aircraft of a similar size and type as that to be operated by the organization and at least 1 year experience of releasing aircraft to service
• Experience acceptable to the Director including at least 5 years’ experience of the control and direction of maintenance and the continuing airworthiness of aircraft of a similar size and type as that to be operated by the organization.
• Must have a clear knowledge and understanding of the maintenance parts of the company’s exposition and the applicable maintenance provisions of Part 136.
• Must undertake any examination or test that the Director may require to determine the applicant’s competency to perform the maintenance planning and control functions required.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring aircraft inducted into the Heli Niugini fleet are checked for type conformity with the applicable minimum equipment requirements.
• Ensuring that modifications and repairs are carried out to approved data.
• Liaising directly with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority PNG on matters relating to airworthiness.
• Ensuring applicable AD/SB’s are accomplished.
• Ensuring the aircraft logbooks are maintained accurately.
• Preparing amendments to the Exposition relating to airworthiness matters.
• Ensuring all applicable flight records, logs and documents are made available to Heli Niugini Engineering and other contractors.
