OFW deployment sa Russia pinag-aaralan ng DOLE

Pinag-aaralan na ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ang mga regulasyon at polisiya sa Russia bilang paghahanda sa posibleng deployment ng mga Pilipinong manggagawa rito.

Kasunod ng mga pag-uusap sa pamahalaan ng Russia, bumuo si Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III ng isang technical working group (TWG) na may layong magsagawa ng mga diskusyon at pulong upang gumawa ng kasunduan para sa deployment sa nasabing bansa.

“Kasalukuyan nang umuusad ang mga pag-uusap sa Russian Federation at isa ang Russia sa mga alternatibong market para sa mga Pilipinong manggagawa na nais magtrabaho sa ibang bansa. Mayroong demand para sa sektor ng construction at household service workers sa Russia,” wika ni Bello.

Naatasan ang TWG na bumuo ng programa ng aktibidad para sa serye ng konsultasyon ng polisiya sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Russia, at makipagpulong rin sa mga kinatawan ng DOLE at POEA sa Russia upang matiyak ang proteksyon at kapakanan ng mga Pilipinong manggagawa.

Dagdag pa rito, inatasan rin ni Bello ang grupo na manguna sa pagbibigay ng orientation sa mga employer sa Russia at mga recruitment agency kaugnay sa mga batas ng bansa para sa deployment ng mga OFW.

Pangungunahan ng Undersecretary for Legal and International Affairs ang TWG katuwang ang POEA Administrator bilang Vice-Chairperson. Magsisilbi naman bilang mga miyembro ang OWWA Administrator, International Labor Affairs Bureau (ILAB), at ang Legal Service ng DOLE.

Inaasahang magbibigay ang grupo ng mga rekomendasyon kaugnay sa deployment ng mga manggagawa sa Russia at para sa bilateral labor agreement na siyang pagbabasehan ng desisyon ng DOLE BLA Steering Committee.
