Sous Chef

Qualifications:

• Must havea 5 years of job-related experience, 2 years of which as a Sous Chef or similar position.
• Experience from airport luxury restaurants, 5-star hotels, cruise ships, fine dining or michellin-star restaurants are desirable
• Demonstrate at all times the importance of upholding the highest personal and professional standard and have positive and passionate attitude towards the customers.
• Team player with a positive outlook and a keen eye for details.
• Has a well-developed social skills, able to handle all type of people and situation and have high level of versatility and flexibility to meet the varied needs and expectations of customers.

Responsibilities:

• The Sous Chef at Hamad International Airport (HIA) Lounges is responsible for the day to day operation in the kitchen during an assigned shift.
• In this role, you will manage the Kitchen brigade and provide exceptional levels of culinary standards in accordance with menu specifications set by the company.
• Ensure that international menus presented to our premium passengers in the various lounges are of the highest caliber
• Ensure that food items and ingredients are as per specifications and that the kitchen is adequately stocked with appropriate quantities.
• Plan and guide staff on food preparation especially during special functions.
• Ensure that food hygiene and safety rules are maintained within specified work areas.
• Monitor food quantities served and provide reports on menu engineering on a continuous basis.
• Maintain First In First Out and ensure that the kitchen stores are maintained in perfect order.
• Communicate and work together with other team members assigned in different areas such as the kitchen, stores and operations with the objective of seamless integration of duties and functions.
• Oversee the preparation of food and monitor presentation.
• Speak to premium passengers as and when time permits, provide a description of menu items and receive suggestions and feedback.
• Implement and analyse innovative menu tailored for customer preference in the region by keeping up with market trends.
• Regularly assess the kitchen brigade for their culinary, safety, hygiene and product knowledge.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
• Employment certificates
• NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
• PEOS certificate
