Daeah Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd is seeking an experienced Rigger for an overseas work opportunity in Mozambique. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely preparing, securing, lifting, moving, and positioning heavy equipment and materials using cranes, rigging equipment, and approved lifting procedures.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
• Must have a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate in a related or similar field.
• Practical experience in rigging, lifting operations, construction, industrial work, or heavy equipment handling is preferred.
• Knowledge of proper rigging and load-securing procedures.
• Familiarity with cranes and various rigging equipment.
• Ability to identify lifting hazards and unsafe working conditions.
• Ability to properly attach and secure loads before lifting.
• Knowledge of basic lifting and rigging safety procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically capable of performing rigging and lifting duties.
• Strong awareness of workplace safety requirements.
• Willingness to work in Mozambique.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Safely lift, move, and position heavy equipment, machinery, materials, and other loads using cranes and appropriate rigging gear.
• Select and use suitable slings, shackles, hooks, wire ropes, chains, spreader beams, and other rigging equipment according to load requirements.
• Attach and secure loads properly before lifting operations.
• Inspect rigging equipment before use and report damaged or defective equipment.
• Ensure loads are properly balanced and secured before lifting.
• Follow approved lifting plans, procedures, and instructions from supervisors or lifting personnel.
• Communicate effectively with crane operators and other workers during lifting operations.
• Use standard hand signals and other approved communication methods during crane operations.
• Guide and control suspended loads safely during lifting and positioning.
• Identify potential hazards before and during lifting activities.
• Establish and maintain a safe working area around lifting operations.
• Follow exclusion zones and ensure unauthorized personnel remain clear of lifting areas.
• Assist in positioning equipment and materials accurately at designated locations.
• Monitor load movement and respond appropriately to changing site conditions.
• Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Maintain rigging tools and equipment in proper working condition.
• Perform other rigging and lifting-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
