Quantity Surveyor
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s / College Degree in Engineering (Civil) or related fields.
- Bachelor or Diploma (Level 3 or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying.
- Proven track record in cost estimation, tender preparation, and contract management.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and methodical approach to work.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel, CostX, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD Civil.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial and technical documentation.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to drive.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, in collaboration with architects and clients.
- Analyze costs for repair and maintenance projects and provide detailed financial reporting.
- Advise on procurement strategies and prepare cost analyses for tenders.
- Perform risk assessment, value management, and cost control for all projects.
- Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
- Forecast material costs, manage cash flow, and adjust budgets according to design or construction changes.
- Allocate work to subcontractors and ensure adherence to contract terms.
- Provide advice on contractual claims and maintain awareness of current building contract standards.
- Track progress, value completed work, and arrange payments efficiently.
- Prepare detailed progress reports and analyze project outcomes.
- Report directly to the Managing Director and Head of Quantity Surveying.
- Maintain excellent relationships with clients, contractors, and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations throughout projects.
- Guarantee that main contracts have appropriate terms and conditions.
