T-Three Projects is seeking qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitters to work in Zambia. The successful candidates will be responsible for fitting, assembling, installing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems used in mining, heavy industry, and plant operations. Candidates must be physically fit, mechanically skilled, and capable of working safely in remote mining environments.

Mechanical Fitter

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a closely related mechanical maintenance position.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining, heavy industry, or plant maintenance.
• At least a high school graduate.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting ability.
• Experience fitting, assembling, maintaining, and repairing industrial and mining equipment.
• Knowledge of pumps, conveyors, crushers, gearboxes, piping systems, bearings, seals, and rotating equipment.
• Ability to use precision alignment tools, measuring instruments, hand tools, and power tools.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and carry out corrective maintenance effectively.
• Physically fit with sufficient stamina to perform demanding mechanical maintenance work.
• Ability and willingness to work in remote mining environments.
• Strong awareness of workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
• Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and able to work effectively as part of a maintenance team.

Responsibilities:

• Fit and assemble mechanical components and equipment such as pumps, conveyors, crushers, gearboxes, and piping systems.
• Install, align, and maintain mechanical machinery and plant equipment according to technical specifications.
• Align shafts, couplings, bearings, and rotating equipment using precision tools such as dial indicators and laser alignment equipment.
• Install and replace bearings, seals, gaskets, and other mechanical components to ensure proper equipment operation.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mining equipment, processing machinery, and plant systems.
• Inspect machinery and mechanical systems for wear, damage, leaks, misalignment, and other faults.
• Conduct lubrication, calibration, adjustment, and servicing of mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and determine the appropriate repair or replacement requirements.
• Safely dismantle machinery and equipment for inspection, repair, overhaul, and component replacement.
• Replace defective, damaged, or worn mechanical parts and components.
• Conduct testing and operational checks after maintenance or repairs to ensure equipment functions properly.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, technical specifications, and maintenance instructions.
• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and mechanical fitting equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and replaced components.
• Follow established preventive maintenance schedules and workplace procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with site requirements.
• Follow occupational health and safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate with mechanics, technicians, engineers, supervisors, and other maintenance personnel.
• Report major equipment defects, safety concerns, and maintenance requirements to supervisors.
• Perform other mechanical fitting, maintenance, and repair duties as assigned.
