Ace Alloy Wheel Repair is seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join its automotive repair team in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles and automotive components while ensuring quality workmanship, workplace safety, and efficient workshop operations. MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Mechanic in an automotive workshop, vehicle repair center, or related environment is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of automotive mechanical systems, vehicle maintenance, inspection, and repair procedures.
- Ability to identify mechanical faults and perform appropriate troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with automotive hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop machinery.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, component replacement, and vehicle servicing procedures.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions, repair manuals, and workshop procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good problem-solving, troubleshooting, and practical mechanical skills.
- Ability to work independently and cooperate effectively with a team.
- Good communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on workshop duties.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and proper tool handling.
- Responsible, reliable, hardworking, and willing to follow company policies and workshop standards.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles and automotive components to identify mechanical problems, defects, and maintenance requirements.
- Diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and inspection procedures.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and scheduled servicing in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
- Repair, remove, replace, and reinstall defective or worn mechanical components.
- Inspect and service engine systems, brakes, steering, suspension, cooling systems, and other vehicle components as required.
- Conduct mechanical checks to assess vehicle condition, performance, and roadworthiness.
- Use hand tools, power tools, workshop machinery, and diagnostic equipment safely and correctly.
- Perform adjustments, component replacements, lubrication, and other preventive maintenance tasks.
- Assist in identifying unusual noises, vibrations, leaks, and other signs of mechanical failure.
- Carry out repairs according to technical specifications, workshop procedures, and quality standards.
- Test vehicles and repaired components after servicing to ensure proper operation and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
- Identify additional repair requirements and report significant mechanical issues to the supervisor or workshop manager.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Properly handle, store, and maintain tools, equipment, automotive parts, oils, lubricants, and workshop materials.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use personal protective equipment when required.
- Coordinate with other mechanics, technicians, panel beaters, vehicle painters, and workshop personnel when necessary.
- Assist with workshop operations and other automotive repair duties as assigned.
- Minimize material waste and ensure efficient use of tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
- Maintain professional workmanship and contribute to the timely completion of repair jobs.
