KITCHEN HELPER

Qualifications:

  • Male applicants are preferred for this role.
  • A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
  • Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma or TESDA Certificate in Commercial Cooking, Culinary Arts, or related fields.
  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Helper, Commis Helper, or in a similar position within a restaurant, cafe, or food service establishment.
  • Basic knowledge of vegetable cutting, food prep techniques, portion control, and raw ingredient handling.
  • Extensive experience in assisting chefs with daily kitchen tasks, assembling prep lines, and organizing cooking stations.
  • Proficient in maintaining kitchen cleanliness, deep sanitization, washing equipment, and proper waste management.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining safety standards.
  • Hardworking, dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting senior culinary staff during peak operational hours.
  • Good physical stamina, teamwork skills, and strong personal hygiene practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the kitchen team in daily food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning vegetables and meats.
  • Perform continuous cleaning duties, including washing dishes, sanitizing food prep surfaces, and sweeping or mopping kitchen floors.
  • Diagnose and report kitchen equipment issues, supply shortages, or food storage temperature discrepancies promptly.
  • Inspect incoming food supplies, raw produce, and pantry items to ensure freshness, quality, and proper rotation (FIFO).
  • Read, interpret, and carry out prep lists, recipe directives, and kitchen order specifications accurately.
  • Support kitchen operations by stocking stations with prep items, operating commercial dishwashers, and discarding trash safely.
  • Conduct routine hygiene inspections, station sanitization, and food holding temperature checks throughout operational shifts.
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations, HACCP guidelines, and kitchen hazard prevention protocols.
  • Coordinate with chefs, line cooks, baristas, and floor managers regarding food timing and kitchen supply needs.
  • Prepare daily prep logs, waste tracking forms, and kitchen cleanliness checklists accurately.
