SEMC Hardware is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy machinery and equipment. The successful candidate should have at least three years of experience working with heavy maintenance equipment, with experience handling Caterpillar, John Deere, or similar heavy equipment brands.
Experience with Hitachi equipment, particularly large excavators such as the Hitachi EX3600, is considered an advantage.
Heavy Equipment Technician
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
- Experience working with Caterpillar or John Deere equipment is required/preferred.
- Experience with Hitachi heavy equipment is an advantage.
- Experience with large Hitachi excavators such as the EX3600 is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems.
- Good knowledge of diesel engines.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems used in heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and maintenance instructions is an advantage.
- Physically fit and capable of working around heavy machinery.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment and machinery.
- Inspect heavy equipment to identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related problems.
- Diagnose equipment faults and determine appropriate repair procedures.
- Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and component replacement.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and electrical/electronic systems.
- Perform inspections and functional tests after repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain heavy equipment in safe and reliable operating condition.
- Work on equipment manufactured by Caterpillar, John Deere, Hitachi, and other heavy equipment manufacturers.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing large excavators and other heavy machinery.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Follow equipment manufacturer’s maintenance procedures and technical specifications.
- Use appropriate tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing instruments safely.
- Identify worn, damaged, or defective components and recommend necessary repairs or replacements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow company safety policies and applicable workplace health and safety requirements.
- Support equipment operators and maintenance teams in resolving equipment-related issues.
- Perform other mechanical maintenance duties as assigned.
