Generator Mechanic
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years work experience
- Trade Certified or College Diploma
- Valid driving license and Computer Literate
- 8 + years solid experience in Generator Mechanic on Cummins Engins or similar
- Complete understanding on Generator Operation and Safety Standard
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance servicing and breakdown resolutions on all generators
- Check all Generator units on daily basis, ensure all engines, switches, monitoring boards are functional and check all lubricant levels
- Conducting weekly inspection, proper cleaning on cooling system, air flow and water flow systems on all Generators
- Complete weekly checklists and check accordingly, submit checklists to Electrical Manager/Workshop Manager.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Actions on all Generators
- Trouble shoot and repair Cummins Engines, Caterpillar Engines, Deutz Engines.
- Trouble shoot Engine Fault on Electronic Control Module (ECM) systems, interpret error codes on panel board and know how to rectify.
- Know how to trouble shoot Common Rail System on Cummins Engines.
- Conduct routine monitoring on all Generators at UMAG.
- Ensure Generators are functional.
- Conduct testing on all Generator Engines, Switches and Panel Control
- Conduct Pre-start and load testing to all Generator
- All work to be performed according to Generator Standard and company SOP • Secure all Generator houses
