Refreshment Trading Co. is seeking an experienced Food Technician – Juice for an overseas work opportunity in Kuwait. The successful candidate will perform laboratory testing and quality-control activities for juice and beverage production, monitor production processes, conduct physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses, and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience.
- Bachelor’s / College Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- B.Sc. or HND in Food Science, Chemistry, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
- Male applicants are preferred.
- Typically 2+ years of experience in a food or beverage production environment.
- Experience in juice or dairy production is an advantage.
- Practical knowledge of food laboratory testing and quality-control procedures.
- Knowledge of physical and chemical testing of food and beverage products.
- Familiarity with testing Brix, pH, acidity, viscosity, color, flavor, and other product quality parameters.
- Knowledge of basic microbiological testing, sampling, and plating procedures.
- Understanding of GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO, and GFSI food safety standards.
- Familiarity with pasteurization, homogenization, ingredient mixing, and beverage production processes.
- Knowledge of CIP/COP sanitation procedures is highly advantageous.
- Proficient in using laboratory testing equipment and instruments.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to use SAP or laboratory data management systems.
- Strong analytical, observation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in laboratory testing and documentation.
- Ability to interpret laboratory results and identify deviations from specifications.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willing and able to work on a 3-shift schedule with 8-hour shifts.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing tasks that may involve lifting and handling materials.
- Strong commitment to food safety, hygiene, quality, and workplace safety.
- Reliable, responsible, and willing to follow established procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform physical and chemical analyses of juice and beverage products to ensure compliance with established specifications.
- Conduct tests for Brix (sugar content), pH, titratable acidity, viscosity, color, flavor, and other quality parameters.
- Collect and prepare samples of raw materials, ingredients, in-process products, and finished juice products for laboratory analysis.
- Conduct microbiological sampling, plating, testing, and data interpretation to detect potential microorganisms and contamination.
- Monitor the quality and condition of ingredients used in juice production.
- Check production samples at different stages of the manufacturing process.
- Monitor pasteurization, homogenization, and ingredient mixing to ensure processes meet required specifications.
- Verify processing parameters and report deviations or abnormalities to the appropriate supervisor or management.
- Monitor proper CIP (Clean-in-Place) and COP (Clean-out-of-Place) sanitation procedures.
- Ensure production areas, equipment, and processes comply with required sanitation standards.
- Support implementation and monitoring of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Follow and maintain Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures.
- Ensure compliance with FSSC 22000, ISO/GFSI-related food safety requirements, and company quality standards.
- Record laboratory test results and production quality data accurately and completely.
- Enter and maintain analytical and quality records using the Laboratory Data Management System (LDMS) or SAP.
- Report out-of-specification results, deviations, contamination risks, and other quality issues to management.
- Assist in investigating quality deviations and identifying possible causes.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, test records, and quality reports.
- Operate laboratory instruments and testing equipment correctly and safely.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure accurate measurements.
- Verify that laboratory instruments are functioning properly before conducting tests.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and properly handle samples, chemicals, and testing materials.
- Assist with quality inspections of raw materials, production processes, and finished products.
- Ensure proper sample labeling, storage, handling, and disposal.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the laboratory and testing areas.
- Communicate quality and laboratory findings effectively with production, quality assurance, and management teams.
- Support continuous improvement activities related to product quality, food safety, sanitation, and production efficiency.
- Perform other laboratory, quality-control, and food production duties assigned by management.
