ELECTRICAL SUPERVISOR
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/College Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- A professional diploma, degree, or relevant electrical engineering certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience is required.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role in the electrical field.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, electrical repairs, components, and maintenance procedures.
- Strong knowledge of electrical system installation, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance.
- Good understanding of electrical codes, regulations, standards, and safety requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, technical plans, and equipment documentation.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve electrical problems.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively manage, guide, and motivate a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with engineers, technicians, contractors, hospital departments, and management.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and workplace hazard controls.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective teamwork and supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of electricians and electrical maintenance personnel.
- Plan, assign, and monitor electrical installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair work.
- Provide technical guidance and support to electrical staff during maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, components, wiring, panels, and installations to ensure proper operation.
- Diagnose electrical faults and coordinate appropriate troubleshooting and repair activities.
- Oversee the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
- Monitor electrical equipment and systems to identify potential faults, safety risks, and maintenance requirements.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance according to established schedules and procedures.
- Ensure electrical repairs and maintenance work are completed safely, correctly, and within required timeframes.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, plans, technical manuals, and specifications.
- Ensure electrical installations comply with applicable electrical codes, regulations, standards, and project specifications.
- Inspect completed electrical work to verify quality, safety, functionality, and compliance.
- Coordinate with engineering, facilities, maintenance, clinical, and other hospital departments regarding electrical requirements.
- Respond to electrical breakdowns and urgent maintenance requirements to minimize disruption to hospital operations.
- Maintain records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, equipment faults, and completed work orders.
- Monitor the condition and performance of electrical components, tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Ensure electrical tools and testing equipment are properly maintained and used safely.
- Enforce electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, PPE use, and safe work practices.
- Identify workplace electrical hazards and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Assist in developing preventive maintenance plans and improving electrical system reliability.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching, training, and technical guidance when required.
- Manage and motivate the electrical maintenance team while promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional standards.
- Coordinate with contractors and external service providers for specialized electrical works when required.
- Perform other electrical supervision, maintenance, and facilities-related duties assigned by hospital management.
