Electrical Supervisor

Qualifications:

• Must be a trade qualified Electrical Fitter
• Must be qualified for a minimum of ten (10) years
• Must have Power Station experience
• Must be experienced in diagnostics and all other electrical components
• Must possess a fluent level of English; speaking, reading and writing
• High and / or Medium Voltage Switching Certificate (Desirable)
• Elevated Work Platform Certificate (Desirable)
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Responsibilities:

• Interprets and uses technical drawings, circuit wiring, equipment and cable/connection schedules and manuals to undertake electrical wiring work
• Installs, repairs, maintains and tests electrical and electrotechnology systems and equipment, including wiring, switches
• Installs, repairs, maintains and tests electrical and electrotechnology systems and outlets, circuit breakers, transformers, lighting fixtures, high (240/415) and medium voltage (11,000 volts), switching and cable termination
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs on electrical machinery and equipment
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance
• Variable speed drive fault finding and maintenance
• Overhead crane electrical repairs
• Generator control and maintenance
• Measures and lays out electrical installation sequences
• Selects, cuts and connects wire and cables to circuit breakers, transformers or other electrical components in residential and commercial settings
• Connects electrical systems to power supply
• Tests continuity, resistance and compliance to standards of electrical circuits
• Reads and interprets engineering drawings and specifications
• Measures and fits metal components using hand tools, power tools and machines
• Prepares and configures machine tools for specific jobs, and ensures correct fixtures, settings and tools are applied
• Repairs and maintains machines and equipment by replacing or repairing faulty parts
• Operates machines and equipment to fabricate metal components
• Tests and adjusts machines and equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations, standards and electrical codes
