Electrical & HV Commissioning Lead

An Electrical & HV (High Voltage) Commissioning Lead plays a critical role in overseeing and managing the commissioning process for electrical and high voltage systems and equipment in various industries such as power generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, manufacturing, and more. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, project management abilities, and a deep understanding of commissioning principles, standards, codes, and practices.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, High Voltage Engineering, or a related field is typically required.
• Coursework in electrical systems, high voltage technology, commissioning procedures, project management, and related disciplines provides foundational knowledge and expertise.

Technical Skills:

• Electrical Systems Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, equipment, components, and technologies, including high voltage systems, transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, protection devices, control systems, and associated infrastructure.
• Commissioning Procedures: Proficiency in developing, implementing, and overseeing commissioning plans, procedures, protocols, tests, and activities for electrical and high voltage systems and equipment to ensure proper installation, functionality, performance, and compliance with specifications, standards, and regulations.
• Testing and Validation: Experience in conducting comprehensive tests, inspections, measurements, diagnostics, and validations during the commissioning process using specialized tools, equipment, instruments, and methodologies.
• Safety and Compliance: Strong knowledge of safety practices, regulations, standards, and compliance requirements related to commissioning, electrical, and high voltage operations to ensure the safe and reliable activation, operation, and handover of systems and equipment.

Leadership and Management Skills:

• Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing commissioning projects, coordinating tasks, allocating resources, scheduling activities, tracking progress, managing budgets, and ensuring timely and successful completion within scope, quality, and safety constraints.
• Team Leadership: Strong leadership abilities to lead commissioning teams, coordinate with multidisciplinary departments, supervise technicians and engineers, provide guidance, foster a collaborative environment, and drive excellence in commissioning initiatives and projects.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to liaise with stakeholders, clients, vendors, contractors, regulators, and management, convey technical information, present findings, address concerns, facilitate discussions, and ensure alignment with project objectives and expectations.
