Electrical Engineer

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five (5) years of working experience in electrical engineering, industrial electrical systems, or related fields.
• Candidates must possess a Professional License (Passed Board/Professional License Examination).
• Red Seal Electrical Certification or an equivalent recognized electrical trade qualification is required.
• Electrical license is preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of management or supervisory experience.
• Strong industrial electrical experience involving generators, switchboards, and power distribution systems.
• Experience managing industrial electrical installations and infrastructure projects.
• Experience with large-scale generator systems of 1000 KVA or higher is preferred.
• Experience in agricultural, manufacturing, processing, or industrial environments is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety regulations and industry standards.
• Ability to lead, organize, and motivate electrical teams effectively.
• Experience in procurement, installation, maintenance, and project management.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other office applications.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise the daily operations of the electrical department.
• Assign work schedules, monitor performance, and provide training and development to electrical personnel.
• Oversee low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure across all company facilities.
• Manage electrical capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, including new installations, upgrades, and infrastructure expansion projects.
• Supervise power generation systems, including diesel generators, backup power systems, and solar installations.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate electrical requirements for farm developments, processing facilities, construction projects, and facility expansions.
• Monitor electrical load distribution and power consumption across operational sites.
• Maintain accurate records for preventive maintenance, generator servicing, thermal imaging inspections, and compliance activities.
• Develop and implement energy efficiency programs and cost-saving initiatives.
• Manage and supervise electrical contractors and service providers.
• Ensure all facilities maintain reliable backup power capabilities.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with department managers to minimize downtime.
• Work closely with construction teams during facility builds, upgrades, and installations.
• Liaise with external suppliers, contractors, and utility providers regarding electrical requirements.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement corrective actions to ensure operational reliability.
• Monitor and improve electrical system performance and reliability.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, and operational documentation.
