COST CONTROL MANAGER
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in Others or similar fields.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Preferably with experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, construction, or construction subcontracting projects.
- Strong experience in own-resource/direct manpower cost control.
- Good knowledge of manpower, equipment, materials, procurement, and cost control at the subcontractor level.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret cost data, identify variances, and develop accurate forecasts.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including the preparation and analysis of cost-control spreadsheets and reports.
- Experience with SAP/ERP systems is preferred.
- Experience with Power BI and cost-control dashboards is preferred.
- GCC experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cost monitoring, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with project and management teams.
- Strong reporting, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional certification such as AACE/CCP, CMA, or PMP is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction or project environment while meeting reporting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and financial discipline.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective cost control systems for construction and subcontracting projects.
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets, estimates, forecasts, and cost plans.
- Manage cost control activities related to direct manpower, equipment, materials, procurement, and other project resources.
- Track own-resource and direct manpower costs, including labor utilization, productivity, overtime, and related expenses.
- Monitor equipment costs, utilization, operating expenses, rentals, maintenance, and productivity.
- Track material consumption, purchases, deliveries, usage, wastage, and inventory costs.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to monitor purchase orders, supplier costs, commitments, and material expenditures.
- Prepare regular cost reports, budget updates, forecasts, and management reports.
- Analyze actual costs against budgets and identify cost variances, trends, and potential overruns.
- Investigate significant cost deviations and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate records of project commitments, actual expenditures, accruals, and forecast costs.
- Assist in developing and updating project cost forecasts and estimates at completion.
- Monitor subcontractor-related costs and ensure expenditures are properly recorded and controlled.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, finance, and site teams on cost-related matters.
- Provide management with timely analysis and recommendations to improve cost efficiency and resource utilization.
- Prepare cost-control dashboards, spreadsheets, and presentations for management review.
- Utilize Excel and SAP/ERP systems to analyze, monitor, and report project cost information.
- Support the development of Power BI dashboards and data visualization for cost and performance monitoring where applicable.
- Ensure cost data is accurate, complete, properly documented, and submitted within reporting deadlines.
- Identify potential financial risks and cost overruns at an early stage and communicate them to management.
- Assist in budget preparation, cost planning, forecasting, and financial performance reviews.
- Establish and maintain appropriate cost-control procedures in accordance with company policies and project requirements.
- Support audits and provide required cost records, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Perform other cost management and financial control duties assigned by management.
