Qualifications::

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience as a Cook in a fine dining restaurant or 4- to 5-star hotel.
• Proven experience in the pre-preparation and preparation of à la carte dishes.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality is required.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, kitchen operations, and professional culinary standards.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Willing to learn the German language up to A2 level, with A1 preferred.
  Strong attention to detail, particularly in food quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced professional kitchen environment.
• Good teamwork, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Reliable, disciplined, hardworking, and willing to adapt to a professional workplace in Germany.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook à la carte dishes according to established recipes, specifications, and quality standards.
• Perform pre-preparation and mise en place activities before service.
• Prepare ingredients through washing, peeling, cutting, portioning, marinating, and other required methods.
• Cook dishes using appropriate cooking techniques while maintaining proper taste, texture, temperature, and presentation.
• Ensure consistent quality and portion sizes for all dishes served.
• Follow recipes and instructions accurately while maintaining professional culinary standards.
• Monitor food during preparation and cooking to prevent overcooking, undercooking, or quality issues.
• Maintain proper food presentation and plating standards for à la carte service.
• Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely food service.
• Assist senior chefs and kitchen supervisors during busy service periods.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, cooking equipment, utensils, and preparation areas.
• Follow proper food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures.
• Store and label ingredients properly to maintain freshness and food quality.
• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use and report any issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Minimize food waste through proper preparation, portioning, storage, and handling of ingredients.
• Assist with inventory checks and ensure adequate ingredients are available for daily operations.
• Follow all kitchen safety procedures and properly handle cooking equipment and tools.
• Maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with colleagues and other departments.
• Be willing to learn and use the German language to support effective communication in the workplace.
• Perform other cooking and kitchen duties assigned by management.
