Workvantage is seeking skilled and detail-oriented Blow Molding Technicians to join a manufacturing team in Canada. The successful candidates will be responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining blow molding equipment to produce high-quality plastic products. The ideal applicants have hands-on experience with blow molding operations and specialized plastic manufacturing equipment while maintaining high standards of quality, productivity, and workplace safety.
Blow Molding Technician
Qualifications:
- Must have at least two (2) years of experience as a Manufacturing Technician, Blow Molding Technician, Molding Technician, Industrial Technician, or in a related position; or possess a post-secondary degree in Industrial Engineering Technology, Pulp and Paper Technology, Plastics Technology, Textile Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in blow molding operations is required.
- Experience operating specialized plastic manufacturing equipment such as Husky, SIPA, KHS, SIG, SIDEL, SBM, or equivalent systems.
- Strong understanding of plastic manufacturing processes, machine operation, and quality control procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot production equipment and perform basic mechanical adjustments.
- Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and manufacturing best practices.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to work rotating shifts, overtime, and in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor blow molding machines to ensure efficient production of plastic products.
- Perform machine start-up, changeovers, adjustments, and shutdown procedures according to production schedules.
- Operate specialized plastic manufacturing equipment, including Husky, SIPA, KHS, SIG, SIDEL, SBM, or similar technologies.
- Monitor production processes and inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform minor repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspections on blow molding equipment.
- Adjust machine settings such as temperature, pressure, and cycle times to optimize production efficiency.
- Record production data, equipment performance, maintenance activities, and quality inspection results.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of raw materials and finished products.
- Maintain a clean and organized production area while complying with workplace safety and housekeeping standards.
- Follow company quality management systems, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with maintenance, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve operational performance.
- Perform other manufacturing and production-related duties assigned by supervisors.
