ASSISTANT TECHNICIAN (BUILDING MAINTENANCE)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be at least a High School Graduate.
- Knowledgeable in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, air-conditioning, and general repair work.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance issues.
- Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and routine facility inspections.
- Ability to use common maintenance hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, plumbing fixtures, air-conditioning equipment, doors, locks, furniture, and other building components.
- Ability to identify maintenance problems and determine appropriate basic repair or corrective action.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining facilities in safe and good working condition.
- Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and follow established work procedures.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, including lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work in guest rooms, public areas, service areas, and other hotel environments as required.
- Ability to respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills when coordinating with supervisors, hotel staff, and other departments.
- Reliable, responsible, hardworking, and safety-conscious.
- Willingness to assist senior technicians and learn additional maintenance skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while following supervisor instructions and hotel procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspection, maintenance, and repair of hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to keep facilities, equipment, and building systems in good working condition.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, restrooms, service areas, and other hotel facilities for maintenance issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, air-conditioning, and mechanical problems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and repair concerns reported by hotel guests and staff.
- Repair or replace damaged fixtures, furniture, lights, switches, outlets, faucets, pipes, doors, locks, and other building components as required.
- Perform minor repairs to walls, ceilings, doors, furniture, and other interior or exterior building components.
- Monitor and maintain electrical, water, plumbing, air-conditioning, and other building systems.
- Assist with basic inspection and maintenance of air-conditioning and ventilation equipment.
- Check for water leaks, electrical problems, damaged fixtures, malfunctioning equipment, and other facility-related concerns.
- Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and correctly.
- Assist senior technicians or supervisors with more complex maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure maintenance tools, equipment, spare parts, and supplies are properly used, stored, and maintained.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, inspections, equipment conditions, and completed tasks.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other hotel departments regarding maintenance requirements and urgent repair requests.
- Prioritize and respond to maintenance concerns that may affect guest comfort, safety, or hotel operations.
- Report major equipment failures, unsafe conditions, and repair requirements requiring specialized technical assistance.
- Maintain maintenance areas, workshops, storage rooms, and work locations in a clean and organized condition.
- Follow proper safety procedures when working with electrical systems, plumbing, tools, machinery, chemicals, and maintenance equipment.
- Comply with hotel health, safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures.
- Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing maintenance activities.
- Assist in emergency maintenance situations and take appropriate action to minimize disruption to hotel operations.
- Perform other building maintenance, repair, and technical support duties assigned by the supervisor.
