Vestland Maritime Corporation is an accredited ship manning agency engaged in the business of contracting, enlisting and/or recruiting qualified Filipino seafarers for employment on-board international ocean-going vessels. The company is registered under the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and is accredited by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). When the company started its operation in 2003, it was housed in a rented office space in HPL Building along Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati City until it moved to its own building in 3306 Matanzas Street, Palanan, also in Makati City in December 2006.
The company has been in existence since January 2003 manning three oil/chemical tanker vessels owned/managed by a Norwegian principal. After a year, our principal added seven more vessels and in three years time, we were already manning a total of 12 oil/chemical tanker vessels. Beginning in 2007, however, we ventured into manning other types of vessels – tug/supply, seismic research, support/stand-by vessels, bulk and general cargo container vessels. At present, we are no longer limited to supplying crew for oil/chemical tanker vessels but expanded to include other type of vessels as well.
Through years in the business, we were able to establish the trust of our principal, gain the loyalty of our crew and their dependents, and secure the confidence of our partners in the trade. Backed by our owners/founders’ years of experience as seafarers, their exposure to and knowledge of the intricacies of the seafarers’ trade, we are more attuned to the realities of our seafarers’ needs, on the one hand, and the crewing needs of our clients and principals, on the other. The wealth of experience that our founders have, coupled with the management’s continuous effort to learn and adopt more innovative ways to better improve the quality of our service has enabled us over the years to maintain the trust of our principal as well as our pool of seafarers.
