Senator Crewing (Manila), Inc. (SCM) was established in 1990 as a fully licensed manning agency. Employing highly competent Masters, officers and ratings for a modern fleet of container, reefer ships, bulkers and tankers, SCM quickly gained recognition from quality oriented International ship owners and, at the same time, established an excellent reputation among professional Filipino seafarers.
Experiencing continued growth, the company recently recorded a total deployment of 2200. In recognition of its accomplishments and high standard, Senator Crewing in 2006 received the Top Performer Award from the Philippine Department of Labor. Qualifications for Job Applicants
The agency ensure that only Filipino workers are qualified and medically-fit are deployed. Hence, Filipino workers are medically examined by government-accredited medical clinics or hospitals and trade-tested or trained by training centers authorized by the government.
- Qualification of Seafarers – Only seafarers certified as competent and qualified shall work, be employed or be engaged onboard a ship.
- Minimum Age – No person below eighteen (18) years old shall work, be employed or be engaged onboard a ship.
- Medical Certification – The seafarer shall hold a valid medical certificate issued by a medical facility duly accredited by the Department of Health (DOH) for that purpose, in accordance with its existing rules and regulations.
