SEA WORLD MARITIME CORPORATION (SWMC) was established on July 1, 1994 in Manila Philippines. Registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and duly licensed to recruit and deploy Filipino seamen by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). Conceptualized by three (3) dynamic marine officers whose vision in manning revolve within the aspect of quality, to achieve “SAFETY and EFFICIENCY”.

In compliance with the regulations of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Sea World Maritime maintains an effective upgrading program of training for its own seafarers. This will ensure that all the seafarers are well prepared before they are deployed to their respective vessels, with continuous upgrading in terms of skills, even in human relations where behaviour counts most in an effective crew management.

SEA WORLD MARITIME CORPORATION is conducting in-house ANTI – PIRACY training for its own crew The course will teach sailors how to detect approaching pirates and who to communicate with in case of an attack. The guidelines include telling sailors to go full speed ahead in case the crew detects small vessels nearby, and to avoid sailing near coastlines.

Despite having no hand in plotting the course of international vessels where Pinoy seafarers are onboard, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will require all manning agencies to compel their ships to take the safe route if passing through the Coast of Somalia.

Qualifications for Job Applicants

The agency ensure that only Filipino workers are qualified and medically-fit are deployed. Hence, Filipino workers are medically examined by government-accredited medical clinics or hospitals and trade-tested or trained by training centers authorized by the government.

  • Qualification of Seafarers – Only seafarers certified as competent and qualified shall work, be employed or be engaged onboard a ship.
  • Minimum Age – No person below eighteen (18) years old shall work, be employed or be engaged onboard a ship.
  • Medical Certification – The seafarer shall hold a valid medical certificate issued by a medical facility duly accredited by the Department of Health (DOH) for that purpose, in accordance with its existing rules and regulations.
