The Company was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on 17 of January 1996. Its license to operate as a Manning Agency was issued by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration on 15 March 1996.
The management of NORTEAM Shipping Services has extensive experience in the shipping industry as officers onboard ships and in senior positions in ship owning and ship management companies ashore.
It was initially established to provide the crewing needs of its overseas Principals and it holds its office in strategic Makati City; the business capital of the Philippines.
The number of ships manned through NORTEAM Shipping have increased gradually and are deploying well qualified marine officers and ratings to various types of vessels including Oil Tankers, Gas Tankers, Oil/Chemical Tankers, Floating Production Storage & Offloading (FPSO), Bulk Carriers, and other types operated or managed by the company’s well satisfied Principals.

Qualifications for Job Applicants
The agency ensure that only Filipino workers are qualified and medically-fit are deployed. Hence, Filipino workers are medically examined by government-accredited medical clinics or hospitals and trade-tested or trained by training centers authorized by the government.
- Qualification of Seafarers – Only seafarers certified as competent and qualified shall work, be employed or be engaged onboard a ship.
- Minimum Age – No person below eighteen (18) years old shall work, be employed or be engaged onboard a ship.
- Medical Certification – The seafarer shall hold a valid medical certificate issued by a medical facility duly accredited by the Department of Health (DOH) for that purpose, in accordance with its existing rules and regulations.
