MANILA OCEAN CREW MANAGEMENT INC., is a newly established sea-based manning company duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and licensed by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). MOC started its operation last October 01, 2009 with 20 staff to man its day to day undertakings.
Its primary objective is to provide competent Filipino officers and crewmembers to bulk carriers and container vessels from our Japanese principal. At present, MOC has a total of 450 officers and crew onboard and a total or 23 manned vessels.
Qualifications for Job Applicants
The agency ensure that only Filipino workers are qualified and medically-fit are deployed. Hence, Filipino workers are medically examined by government-accredited medical clinics or hospitals and trade-tested or trained by training centers authorized by the government.
- Qualification of Seafarers – Only seafarers certified as competent and qualified shall work, be employed or be engaged onboard a ship.
- Minimum Age – No person below eighteen (18) years old shall work, be employed or be engaged onboard a ship.
- Medical Certification – The seafarer shall hold a valid medical certificate issued by a medical facility duly accredited by the Department of Health (DOH) for that purpose, in accordance with its existing rules and regulations.
