Bright Maritime Corp. was established in 1993 by its founders, Capt. George Stefanou and Capt. Dimitris Stefanou after both being successful Masters and then heads of Departments in respective fields of crewing and operations.
Bright Maritime Corp. was granted full POEA license accreditation in April 1994 in compliance to the licensing requirements for manning companies. The company’s new management team is out to invigorate the company with dynamic programs that will ensure delivery of quality services to the different ship owners and ship managers.
Qualifications for Job Applicants
The agency ensure that only Filipino workers are qualified and medically-fit are deployed. Hence, Filipino workers are medically examined by government-accredited medical clinics or hospitals and trade-tested or trained by training centers authorized by the government.
- Qualification of Seafarers – Only seafarers certified as competent and qualified shall work, be employed or be engaged onboard a ship.
- Minimum Age – No person below eighteen (18) years old shall work, be employed or be engaged onboard a ship.
- Medical Certification – The seafarer shall hold a valid medical certificate issued by a medical facility duly accredited by the Department of Health (DOH) for that purpose, in accordance with its existing rules and regulations.
