Maintenance Engineer

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
  • Experience in maintenance within manufacturing or pharmaceutical industry is an advantage
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and practices
  • Familiarity with GMP and safety standards is preferred
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and utility equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation issues
  • Ensure all equipment operates efficiently to support continuous production
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Support installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams for process improvements

The state-of-the-art integrated insulin manufacturing facility in Malaysia was set up at an investment of over USD 350 million (MYR 1,543.5 million), the largest foreign investment in biotechnology in the country till date. Commercial operations at the facility commenced in 2016 when Biocon Biologics’ recombinant human insulin became the first locally manufactured biosimilar product approved for sale in Malaysia.
