Chemical Safety Specialist

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of working experience in chemical safety or related fields.
  • Post Graduate Diploma / Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Previous experience in evaluating chemical and pesticide hazards and their impacts on public health and the environment.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic (written and spoken) is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of chemical safety management principles, regulations, and legislation.
  • Strong skills in technical report writing and computer applications.
  • Male applicants are preferred for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and study the hazardous impacts of chemicals and pesticides on public health and the environment.
  • Supervise the storage, handling, and transportation of chemical materials to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor chemical safety management principles across projects.
  • Ensure adherence to local and international chemical safety regulations and legislation.
  • Prepare and maintain technical reports, safety documentation, and risk assessments.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to evaluate chemical safety compliance.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on safe chemical practices and emergency procedures.
  • Utilize computer systems and applications for data management, reporting, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain a safe working environment and mitigate chemical risks.
