High-Voltage Electrician

Qualifications:

  • Completed qualification building on the general electrician profession (advanced or specialized electrical certification)
  • Demonstrated experience installing systems above two hundred kV
  • Experience in high-voltage power cable connection and termination
  • Strong knowledge of electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Understanding of HV safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Ability to work on industrial and transmission-level projects
  • Good physical condition and ability to work on construction or substation sites
  • Candidate must know how to communicate in English.
  • Candidate must have a valid passport.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and commission high-voltage electrical systems above two hundred kV
  • Perform installation of high-current and high-voltage circuits
  • Connect and terminate high-voltage power cables
  • Carry out cable jointing and cable laying for transmission systems
  • Assist in installation of transformers, switchgear, and substation equipment
  • Perform testing, fault detection, and troubleshooting of HV systems
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations
  • Work closely with engineering and project teams during installation and commissioning
  • Follow strict high-voltage safety procedures and site protocols
