Boring Machinist (Traditional)

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Technical training or apprenticeship in machining is an advantage
• 3 years of hands-on experience with conventional boring machines
• Proven experience as a traditional/manual boring machinist
• Strong knowledge of machining processes and metal properties
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
• Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for setting up and operating conventional (manual) boring machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, measurement tools, and safety procedures to ensure accurate and high-quality work.
• Set up and operate traditional horizontal and vertical boring machines
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders
• Select appropriate tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials
• Perform precision boring, drilling, facing, and related machining operations
• Measure and inspect finished parts using micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, and calipers
• Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish to specified tolerances
• Make manual adjustments to machines during operation to ensure accuracy
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in safe working condition
• Follow all safety rules, procedures, and housekeeping standards
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality personnel as needed

Requirements:

• Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
• Employment certificates
• NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
• PEOS certificate
