Echo cardiogram (2D ECHO)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in echocardiography
  • Graduate of a 4-year Allied Health course (e.g., Radiologic Technology, Nursing, or related field)
  • Must be a Professional License holder (Passed Board/Professional License Examination)
  • Proven experience in performing non-invasive cardiac ultrasound (2D Echo) procedures
  • Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and Doppler techniques

Responsibilities:

  • Perform 2D echocardiograms and Doppler studies to assess cardiac structure and function
  • Explain procedures to patients, address concerns, and ensure patient comfort throughout the examination
  • Properly position patients and monitor vital signs before, during, and after the procedure
  • Operate ultrasound equipment, adjusting technical settings such as beam depth, focus, gain, and signal to obtain high-quality images
  • Utilize appropriate transducers to capture clear cardiac images and Doppler flow data
  • Measure and analyze heart wall thickness, chamber dimensions, valve function, and blood flow velocity
  • Compare findings against normal reference ranges and ensure accurate data recording
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital safety and infection-control standards
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare teams for accurate diagnosis and patient care
  • Ensure proper care, maintenance, and calibration of echocardiography equipment
