HEAD CHEF – PASTRY SECTION
Qualifications:
- Male applicants are preferred
- 5 – 7 yrs. progressive experience in pastry and dessert production, with at least 2-3 yrs in supervisory or head pastry
- Expertise in Pastry, Bread, Cakes, Desserts, Chocolate, Sugar Work, and plated Desserts.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and execute creative dessert and pastry menus in line with restaurant, hotel, or bakery concepts. Supervise and lead the pastry team in daily operations, ensuring high standards of quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Oversee the preparation, baking, and finishing of pastries, cakes, breads, and specialty desserts.
- Design and test new recipes while incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain cost control by managing ingredient usage, minimizing waste, and monitoring food costs.
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in the pastry kitchen.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate pastry chefs, bakers, and assistants to develop their skills and maintain efficiency. Manage pastry kitchen schedules, assign tasks, and coordinate workflow to meet production and service deadlines.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and F&B management to align pastry offerings with overall menu planning. Source high-quality ingredients and establish good relationships with suppliers.
- Monitor inventory, order supplies, and maintain stock levels for smooth pastry kitchen operations. Uphold consistent portioning, taste, and quality for all dessert items.
- Handle customer feedback, making adjustments to improve products and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and report any repairs or replacements needed.
- Stay updated with pastry trends and modern techniques
