Financial Controller

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field. CPA/CA is highly desirable.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in the agriculture or poultry industry.
• Hands-on experience with ERP Systems (Sage 300) and Microsoft products.
• Deep knowledge of cost accounting in agriculture or manufacturing
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication abilities
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to think objectively and demonstrate sound judgement

Responsibilities:

• To oversee all financial aspects of our poultry operations.
• Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Requires an understanding of agriculture and poultry industry economics, cost structures (including feed, labour processing) and working capital cycles.
• Oversee daily financial operations including accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and present findings to senior management.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Monitor and analyse costs related to feed, processing, labour, logistics and overheads.
• Establish and track production cost metrics (e.g. cost per bird, cost per egg, feed conversion ratio).
• Conduct variance analysis on actual vs. budgeted performance
• Lead the annual budgeting process in coordination with department heads
• Provide rolling forecasts considering seasonal and market fluctuations in poultry production
• Manage cash flow and working capital requirements to ensure liquidity
• Monitor receivables and payables to optimise the cash conversion cycle
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations and internal policies
• Coordinate internal audits, providing necessary documentation and analysis
• Supervise finance staff and ensure proper training, development and performance management
• Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
