Q.C. Engineer – Mechanical

Qualifications:

  • Male applicants are preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience (typically 3-7 years) in the installation, supervision, and commissioning of plumbing and fire protection systems in building construction projects.
  • General understanding of plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, sanitary, storm water) and firefighting systems (sprinklers, standpipes, fire pumps, fire alarms, smoke management).
  • Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD) for reviewing drawings and potentially preparing field sketches, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex on-site issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with contractors, consultants, clients, and internal teams.
  • Meticulous approach to ensure precision in installation and adherence to specifications.
  • Good command of English (Verbal and Written)
  • Multilingual communication skills (especially in English)

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing Designs and Specifications: Thoroughly understand mechanical drawings, specifications, contract documents, and relevant local/international standards (e.g., NFPA for firefighting, IPC/UPC for plumbing).
  • Material Selection/Approval: Prepare material technical submittals for all plumbing and firefighting items (pipes, fittings, valves, pumps, sprinklers, fire alarms, etc.) to ensure they meet project specifications, quality standards, and budget.
  • Resource Estimation and Planning: Estimate the required manpower, materials, consumables, equipment, and tools for all mechanical works related to plumbing and firefighting
  • Method Statement Development: Prepare and review method statements for installation processes to ensure they are safe, efficient, and compliant with project procedures.
  • Supervision and Oversight: Supervise and technically guide mechanical teams (foremen, technicians, laborers) on the installations, ensuring all work adheres to approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify and pre-resolve any unexpected technical difficulties or construction problems that arise on-site related to plumbing and firefighting systems.
  • Coordination with Other Disciplines: Collaborate closely with civil, electrical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure seamless integration of plumbing and firefighting systems within the overall building design. This includes avoiding clashes
  • Quality Documents Development: Prepare all QC documents such as ( ITP, Checklist, …etc)
  • Construction Document Review: Review all construction documents, such as (Method statement, Technical Material Submittals, … etc).
  • Work Inspections: Conduct the required inspection either for material receiving or for the completed works.
