Unit Herdsman – Dairy

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in dairy farming and livestock management
  • Strong knowledge of animal health and welfare practices
  • Ability to manage a team and oversee daily dairy operation
  • Good English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • A valid driver’s license (able to drive 4-wheeled vehicles)
  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
    • Agriculture
    • Animal Science
    • Animal Husbandry
    • Veterinary Medicine

Responsibilities:

  • Daily milking operations and herd supervision
  • Monitoring cow health and administering basic treatments
  • Assisting with calving, breeding, and youngstock care
  • Maintaining a clean and efficient housing and milking environment
  • Accurate record-keeping of herd health and performance
  • Operating farm machinery as needed
