Gypsum Carpenter
Qualifications:
- Male atleast 25-45 years old
- Must be vocational or college level
- With atleast 3 years related experience
- Effective communication with supervisors and engineers.
- Ability to lift heavy items.
- Ability to operate and maintain power tools such as cutting machine, grinder, router, etc.
- Ability to safely handle hand cutting tools such as handsaws, etc.
- Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to meet the requirements.
- Calculate the size and amount of needed materials.
- Shape and process materials according to taken measurements.
- Install and assemble doors, cladding, furniture, shelves, and other joinery items.
- Conduct inspection, maintenance, and repairs on materials and finished structures and buildings
- Perform repairs to damaged joinery products in transit or during shifting/ installation.
- Perform paint touch-ups to minimise defect and make seamless high quality finished product.
- Give attention to detail for joinery works for high quality finishes.
- Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closures
- Calculating the number of fasteners required for each job.
- Assist Lead Carpenter on job sites as well as bring discrepancies and special conditions to his attention.
- Ability to use job specific tools to install cabinetry, hardware, and trim.
- Maintain a safe and clean job site.
- Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as
required. - Be up to date with fire requirement when fitting fire doors, ensuring that the door sets are installed in
accordance with current building regulations & standard requirements.
