HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, maintenance, and repair of various heavy equipment used in construction, mining, and other industrial settings. This role requires extensive knowledge of heavy equipment systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques to ensure operational efficiency and safety.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various types of heavy equipment, including familiarity with engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Preferably holds a TESDA Certificate or equivalent training in Heavy Equipment Mechanics.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks in various weather conditions and environments.
• Willingness to undergo additional training and certifications as needed to stay current with industry standards and technology advancements.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose mechanical issues, and perform repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes.
• Identify and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical problems in heavy equipment systems, utilizing diagnostic tools and manuals to determine root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Implement preventative maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the ongoing reliability and performance of heavy equipment. This includes lubrication, fluid checks, filter replacements, and component inspections.
• Replace worn or damaged parts in heavy equipment systems, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic cylinders, and brake systems. Ensure proper installation and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimize hazards and promote workplace safety.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repair histories, parts inventory, and equipment inspections. Generate reports as required to track equipment performance and maintenance costs.
