Chiller Technician

A Chiller Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing chillers (refrigeration systems) and other related equipment. They diagnose problems, inspect and test systems, perform maintenance and repairs, and ensure that equipment is running efficiently and safely.

Qualifications:

• Should have more than 10 years of experience, in which at least 5 years of previous working experience in gulf with popular brands like York, Trane, Zamil, Carrier, Petra, SKM, etc. is required.
• A recognized qualification in refrigeration or air conditioning. (Vocational graduate)
• Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Good problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• All candidates should be able to Speak, Read and write English.

Chiller Technician Skills

• Installing and maintaining chillers
• Troubleshooting and repairing chillers
• Carrying out regular inspections and maintenance
• Identifying faulty components and replacing them
• Advising on energy efficiency improvements

Duties and Responsibilities:

• The Chiller Technician Shall be a High School Graduate with a minimum of two (2) years Certificate or Diploma in air conditioning and refrigeration from a University or Technical School.
• The Chiller Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial chillers and their associated components. This may include chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, valves, filters, compressors, evaporators and condensers. The Chiller Technician must possess a good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems, as well as have excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• The successful candidate will be required to carry out routine maintenance, repair and installation of chillers, as well as provide technical advice and guidance to customers. They must be able to work both independently and as part of a team and be able to work to tight deadlines.
• The Chiller Technician Shall have a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience (after obtaining the Certificate or Diploma) in industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems of which five (5) years are York Chillers.
• The Chiller Technician Shall be able to perform as a highly skilled craftsman, install, diagnose, repair and overhaul all types of screw chillers and refrigeration systems.
• The Chiller Technician Shall be able to locate equipment or system failures and operating irregularities by making diagnostic tests, measurements and analysis.
• The Chiller Technician Shall be able to determine nature of repairs, overhauling or modifications to be made and replacement parts required.
• The Chiller Technician Shall be able to read and understand electrical diagrams, instrumentation & control diagrams and logic diagrams.
• The Chiller Technician Shall be able to perform maintenance on equipment and perform operating tests to ensure satisfactory operation of repaired, overhauled or newly installed equipment and systems.
• The Chiller Technician Shall be able to perform highly skilled diagnosis of HVAC and refrigeration systems faults.
• The Chiller Technician Shall be able to prepare new or altered installation on all types of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• The Chiller Technician Shall be able to speak, read and write the English language and be proficient in writing correspondence and technical reports.
• The Chiller Technician Shall possess a valid Saudi Arabia Government Driving License.
• Inspect and maintain chillers and associated systems.
• Diagnose faults, and repair or replace parts as necessary.
• Carry out periodic maintenance and servicing
• Install chillers accessories and associated systems
• Check and adjust system temperatures and pressures
• Prepare reports and log maintenance activities
