Pre-school Teacher
Qualifications:
- 4 years experience as Preschool Teacher in Montessori approach
- Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and child development
- Knowledge and understanding of how children play and learn
- Knowledge and understanding of child protection issues
- Knowledge of relevant legal and OFSTED requirements
- Knowledge of health & safety standards & risk assessments.
- Experience of working with children in a pre-school setting rated as good or outstanding.
- Experience of providing activities and support for children linked to their developmental stage
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- A creative and innovative approach
- Confidence to work with online systems and children’s records
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that own work practices take into account the welfare & safeguarding of each child within the Nursery
- Where relevant, work proactively with the relevant agencies in dealing with all Safeguarding issues to ensure the children are protected to the highest standards
- Work proactively to ensure that staff within the age group have a solid understanding of the most up to date safeguarding policy
- Assist the Age Group Leader in deploying staff as required to ensure that the nursery school’s daily routines are followed.
- Ensure that children’s observations and Long, Medium and Short Term planning within the age group are completed, kept up to date and carried out through Blossom.
- Support the requirements of children with special educational needs, with reference to the SEN Code of Practice, so that the company’s admission policy may be as inclusive as possible.
- Develop and maintain the environment and equipment of the relevant rooms to ensure that a high quality learning space which offers children a wide range of experiences and supports their independence and decision making skills is provided.
- Plan and operate a programme of suitable learning and play activities in line with the EYFS to foster the growth, happiness and development of every individual child
- Participate in inductions for all new staff members, students and volunteers within the preschool setting
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and reviews
- Participate in and deliver in-house training if applicable
- Maintain regular and effective communication with the Age Group Leader and other key people in Snug nursery schools.
- Maintain and participate in appropriate sector activities outside of Snug nursery schools e.g. conferences, local forums, moderation.
- Work in partnership with outside agencies, maintaining contact and organising visits, seeking advice from the Nursery Manager where necessary
Requirements:
- Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
- Employment certificates
- NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
- PEOS certificate
