PASTRY CHEF

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of working experience as a pastry chef or in a similar role.
• No minimum educational attainment required, but a high school diploma and a certificate or degree in culinary arts, baking, or pastry-making are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking procedures, and ingredient handling.
• Ability to create new recipes and innovate within the pastry field.
• Leadership experience, with the ability to train and mentor junior staff.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare a wide variety of baked goods, including cakes, cookies, pies, pastries, and chocolates, following established recipes or creating new ones.
• Monitor ingredient stocks, manage inventory, and order supplies within budgetary constraints to ensure efficient production.
• Supervise and train junior staff (assistants, bakers) while ensuring that strict health, sanitation, and safety standards are followed in the kitchen.
• Ensure the highest level of presentation and quality in all products, maintaining consistency across batches.
• Stay updated on new baking trends, recipes, and techniques, incorporating them into the bakery’s offerings when appropriate.
• Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
