Heavy Equipment Operator / Driver

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator in a civil construction environment.
• A strong track record of operating one or more of the specified machines (e.g., excavator, dozer).
• Truck Drivers (Tipper/Dump trucks, flat decks 7 small concrete trucks) but experience and endorsements with larger trucks is advantageous.
• Excavators (Final trim experience) Laser Level experience, international endorsements and excellent H & S knowledge an advantage!!
• Can communicate in english well.

Responsibilities:

• General labouring work as required
• Performing pre-start checks and routine daily maintenance on all assigned machinery.
• Reading and interpreting site plans, levels, and drawings to ensure accurate and precise work.
• Executing tasks such as bulk earthworks, trenching, levelling, trimming, and final trim work.
• Assisting with the installation of underground services (e.g., pipes, cables) as required.
• Communicating effectively with the site foreman, surveyors, and other team members to ensure project goals are met.
• Adhering strictly to all company health and safety protocols and New Zealand regulations.
• Reporting any mechanical issues or damage to equipment in a timely manner.
• Maintaining a tidy and safe work area.
