Shear Plant Operator

Qualifications:

• Diploma from a Technical Institute in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics (or equivalent).
• 3 to 5 years of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Basic understanding of HMI (Human Machine Interface) and ability to read parameters and alarms.
• Knowledge of machine sensors, including: – Proximity sensors. – Position sensors. – Temperature sensors. – Pressure sensors.
• Ability to monitor sensor signals through HMI and ensure correct operation.
• Basic knowledge of electro-mechanics (mechanical and electrical fundamentals).
• Understanding of PLC-based systems (not programming, but reading indications and understanding the role of PLC in machine operation).
• Ability to oversee routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring minimal downtime through effective planning and urgency.
• Fast problem-solving under pressure

Responsibilities:

• Operate machinery according to established procedures and safety standards.
• Monitor machine output quality and make necessary adjustments to meet product specifications.
• Read and interpret HMI parameters, messages, and alarms to ensure proper machine functioning.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components.
• Track and log daily/monthly production and maintenance activities.
• Support routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Identify and separate non-conforming materials.
• Observe sensor performance through HMI and act on irregularities.
