We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cleanroom and Micro contamination Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of contamination control strategies in a state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring the cleanliness and operational integrity of the cleanroom and associated facilities, supporting factory expansions, and driving compliance across engineering and operations teams.
Cleanroom Engineer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Microelectronics, or a related field.
- Certification in cleanroom or contamination control (e.g., IEST, NEBB).
- Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes (e.g., lithography, etch, deposition).
- Experience with factory automation and environmental monitoring systems (EMS/BMS).
- Knowledge of LEED or other sustainable cleanroom design practices.
- 5+ years of experience in semiconductor cleanroom operations, contamination control, or facilities engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Cleanroom & Contamination Control Develop, implement, and maintain cleanroom cleanliness policies, protocols, and specifications in accordance with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 14644).
- Monitor and analyse airborne particle and molecular contamination levels using advanced metrology tools (e.g., particle counters, AMC monitors).
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for contamination excursions or non-compliance events.
- Collaborate with process engineering, facilities, and operations teams to ensure contamination control best practices are followed.
- Define and update contamination control specifications for cleanroom design, gowning protocols, equipment installation, and maintenance procedures.
- Establish and enforce factory-wide cleanliness standards and audit protocols.
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for micro contamination control in cross-functional teams.
- Provide contamination control expertise during factory expansion and tool installation projects.
- Review and approve cleanroom design layouts, airflow models, and material compatibility for new construction.
- Coordinate with construction, facilities, and tool vendors to ensure compliance with cleanliness requirements during build-out and ramp-up phases.
- Set particle and AMC performance targets and develop dashboards for real-time monitoring and reporting.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal and industry standards.
