Operation Superintendent

Qualifications:

• Preferably a Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Alternatively, a Trade Qualification or Diploma in Civil Construction, Building, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
  with similar projects – commercial, industrial, infrastructure, etc.
• Demonstrated experience supervising civil and construction projects across diverse scopes and environments.
• Proven ability to manage multiple site activities, teams, and subcontractors effectively.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, civil works, and relevant standards/regulations.
• Solid working knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management practices
• Proficient with MS Office and basic project reporting tools.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and team coordination
• Detail-focused with commitment to safety and quality
• Adaptable to remote and high-demand environments
• Skilled in reading technical drawings and specifications
• Understanding budget, resource tracking, etc.
• Accurate and timely reporting of progress, delays, incidents.
• Skilled in managing construction timelines

Responsibilities:

• Lead site-level construction activities, including earthworks, concrete works, drainage, structural, and minor building works.
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with project drawings, technical specifications, and schedules, maintaining a high standard of quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure smooth execution of construction phases. Coordinate daily workflows, resource planning, and sequencing of tasks.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and industry standards. Lead daily pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and site inductions.
• Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and company procedures.
• Supervise site crews, trades, and subcontractors. Ensure clear communication, task delegation, and performance monitoring across all teams.
• Manage the delivery, storage, and use of construction materials. Identify and rectify supply or logistical issues to avoid project delays.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality and workmanship. Address defects or non-compliance promptly and thoroughly.
• Provide daily or weekly reports on site progress, risks, delays, and manpower. Communicate effectively with management and clients.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation for all site activities including project-related documents.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
• This role might involve being on-site for long hours, or in remote conditions.
