Workshop Superintendent

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a similar leadership role is ideal
• Experience in a production mining environment on a 24/7 basis operation
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management Microsoft Office products
• Motivated and enjoy challenges
• Must be results driven and solution focused
• 100% commitment to complying with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures
• Mechanical Trade Certification in Heavy Equipment Fitter

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Workshop Manager on all technical and administrative matters relating to the fleet, workshop and workshop crews.
• Supervision of workshop and maintenance crew to ensure mechanical repairs are completed efficiently and effectively within the time constraints given.
• Have the ability to correctly diagnose faults and order correct parts
• Accurate completion and supervision on Job cards / Inventory
• Oversee the training and development of employees in the workshop
• Coordinate and assist in the carrying out of planned maintenance at the workshop to a standard that maintains the integrity and reliability of the equipment.
• Manage the maintenance and repair of our fleet of light vehicles, general plant and heavy machinery.
• Ensure the workshop is kept clean, tidy and hazard free.
• Strive to establish a culture encompassing the vision and core values of HBS
• Actively participate and contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of HBS work practices
• Enforce health and safety precautions
• Compliance with all SH & E policies, procedures, and requirements
• Following instructions and rules to prevent accidents
• Taking personal accountability for own safety and at all times being aware of the impact of actions on the safety of others
• Participating and contributing to the effectiveness of safety activities
• Immediately reporting and injury, incident or “near miss “encountered during the course of work
• Assisting other employees in carrying out these responsibilities by support and example
