Mechanical Design Engineer

(Power Control Room / Modular Substation / E-House / Prefabricated Substation)

Qualifications:

  • BS Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering
  • Direct work experience of minimum 5 years in the field of Design, Engineering &
    Manufacturing of PCR or identical metallic enclosures, and HVAC, Fire Alarm System & Piping in PCR or HV/MV Substations; by using various design / engineering software and AutoCAD / MicroStation, 2D/3D models, etc.
  • Proficient in English language, Strong skills in Design Application Software & AutoCAD / MicroStation
  • Knowledge of HVAC, Fire Alarm System, Piping, related electrical equipment in a typical PCR or HV/MV Substation and International Technical Standards (ANSI/IEC/UL/ASTM/NEMA/DIN/NFPA/SASO, etc.)
  • Conversant with ISO/QMS/EMS functions & documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical activities related to Mechanical Design, Engineering & Tests of Power Control Room / Modular Substation / E-House / Prefabricated Substation using various software, including but not limited to the following:
    • To yield a safe, quality & cost-effective design / Product in a timely manner as per client’s requirements.
    • To study & comply with required standards & specification, etc.
    • To perform & prepare enclosure & structural design, Sizing, Calculation, Analysis & relevant drawings/documents.
    • To perform & prepare design, sizing and calculations of HVAC, Fire Alarm Systems & relevant drawings/documents.
    • To prepare equipment drawings (General Arrangement, Section / Foundation / Fabrication, etc)
    • To prepare Bill of Material, Documents, 2D/3D models and drawings, etc.
    • To select & evaluate related material & components, e.g. Steel Metal Sheet & Member/I-Beam, Side Walls & Roof, Doors & Accessories, Conduit/Pipe, Seal/Gasket, Fastening Hardware, HVAC & Fire Alarm System, etc.
    • To provide technical support and product cost sheets to Sales Engineer. To perform design & development of other products (& drawings/documents) as deemed necessary by the company.
    • To be well knowledgeable of related Electrical Equipment in a typical HV/MV Substation.
