Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years working with a variety of US, European, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese heavy earthmoving equipment.
• Proficiency in engine overhauls, electrical systems, and hydraulic control systems.
• Strong understanding of transmissions and drive systems
• Relevant trade certifications in heavy equipment mechanics are preferred
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, software, and specialized equipment for troubleshooting
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in mechanics is an advantage
• Ability to lift heavy parts and work in physically demanding environments.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality repair
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and other team members

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and overhauls of heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and dump trucks.
• Conduct engine tune-ups, overhauls, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, and control systems
• Repair or replace hydraulic components to maintain equipment functionality
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in starting, charging, lighting, and auxiliary systems.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues in electronic control modules (ECMs) and wiring harnesses.
• Perform disassembly, inspection, and repair of transmission systems, including manual, automatic, and hydrostatic systems.
• Adjust and calibrate drivetrains for optimal operation.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools and software to identify and solve equipment malfunctions.
• Provide accurate assessments and implement timely solutions.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure all equipment is repaired to meet safety and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation
