Senior Application Developer

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on .NET technologies.
• Proven experience in C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET Frameworks, and Web API development.
• Ability to analyse and solve problems; coordinate, plan and schedule; test and implement applications.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and API security best practices.
• Proficiency in SQL Server and database design, including Dapper or Entity Framework for data access.
• Strong front-end development skills using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming principles.
• Basic accounting and financial systems knowledge.
• Proven track record working with ERP systems at medium to large organisation.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile/Scrum) and DevOps practices.
• Record of delivering IT interventions with proven ROI against key business metrics that demonstrate tangible business benefit
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, Entity Framework, Dapper, and other database technologies.
• Knowledge of Retail business or Inventory Management System with POS would be an added advantage
• Ability to adapt to constant changing demands positively and effectively.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to handle pressure and being creative. Ability to multi-task, priorities, and manage time effectively
• Experience with Blazor, Razor Pages, or other .NET-based front-end frameworks.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing frameworks.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, .NET Developer).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello)

Responsibilities:

• Analysis of user requirements, and based on these, the planning of systems enhancements and new programming requirements that need to be put into place.
• Writing of efficient program codes and ensuring the programs tie with as little system resource as possible and testing of the same programs for correctness in logic and function.
• Carrying out thorough systems testing prior to handover to quality assurance staff or the end user.
• Maintaining system documentation and writing user manual and procedures.
• Understudying the Application Systems in use at Carpenters with the view to learn as well as identify any potential areas for improvements or any flaws that should be rectified.
• Analyse and solve ICT problems; coordinate, plan and schedule; test and implement programs.
• To facilitate identification and application of mobile technology innovations, web based technology solutions and cloud computing technology in Carpenter’s operations.
• To develop and instill culture of IT innovation that will improve alignment of proven technology and innovative ideas.
• Providing application system training for the end user.
• Maintaining an up to date knowledge of developments within the IT Industry and upgrading technical skills, and through this research and learning, enhance and improve existing procedures.
• Carry out other tasks delegated by the Manager Group IT Services.
