Mercan Recruit Ltd. is hiring Industrial Butchers and Meat Cutters for deployment to Canada. The role involves slaughtering, processing, cutting, trimming, deboning, and preparing meat products in accordance with food safety, quality, and production standards within a meat processing facility.

Industrial Butcher and Meat Cutter

Qualifications:

  • Male applicants are preferred.
  • Secondary school graduate.
  • 23 to 38 years old.
  • Minimum of 3 years continuous and ongoing experience as a Butcher or Meat Cutter.
  • Experience in using stunning equipment for cattle slaughtering.
  • Skilled in cleaning and trimming carcasses.
  • Experience in splitting carcasses into smaller portions for further processing.
  • Preferably with excellent deboning skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing demanding manual work.
  • Knowledge of meat processing procedures, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform cattle slaughtering operations using approved stunning equipment and procedures.
  • Clean, trim, and prepare carcasses for processing.
  • Split carcasses into designated portions according to production requirements.
  • Debone meat cuts efficiently while minimizing product waste.
  • Cut, trim, and prepare meat products to required specifications and quality standards.
  • Inspect meat products for quality, consistency, and compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Operate and maintain knives, saws, cutting equipment, and processing tools safely.
  • Follow hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures at all times.
  • Handle and store meat products properly to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and processing areas.
  • Assist in packaging, labeling, and preparing meat products for distribution when required.
  • Meet daily production targets while maintaining product quality standards.
  • Report equipment issues, product defects, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to ensure efficient processing operations.
