HSSE Lead

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields is typically required. Specializations or coursework in HSSE management, regulations, compliance, and risk management can provide foundational knowledge and expertise.
• Certifications:
  • NEBOSH Certifications: Certifications such as the NEBOSH National or International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety can be valuable for roles involving HSSE management and compliance.
  • OSHA Certifications: Certifications from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) or other relevant certifications focused on safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards.

Professional Experience:

• Extensive experience in HSSE management, with a proven track record in developing, implementing, and managing health, safety, security, and environmental programs, initiatives, and compliance within industries such as oil and gas, construction, manufacturing, energy, or other relevant sectors.
• Comprehensive understanding of HSSE principles, regulations, standards, risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation techniques, emergency response planning, and industry-specific HSSE requirements.

Skills and Competencies:

• HSSE Expertise: In-depth knowledge and expertise in health, safety, security, and environmental management systems, practices, procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements relevant to the specific industry or sector.
• Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership abilities, team management skills, and interpersonal skills to lead, guide, mentor, and develop HSSE teams, fostering collaboration, communication, and alignment towards HSSE objectives and organizational goals.
• Risk Management: Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to assess risks, identify hazards, evaluate potential impacts, and implement effective risk mitigation strategies and controls to prevent incidents and ensure a safe and secure work environment.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, with the capacity to convey HSSE-related information clearly, facilitate discussions, document activities, and build relationships with stakeholders, including colleagues, contractors, vendors, regulators, and management.
• Continuous Improvement Mindset: A strong commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in HSSE practices, processes, technologies, and performance. Ability to drive change, foster a culture of HSSE excellence, and champion HSSE initiatives, best practices, and compliance across the organization.
